Rosario Park Beach Elopement Editorial
My sweet friend Jade is beyond talented—not just at hair and makeup, but also at dreaming up and styling full “fake weddings” that look and feel like the real thing. When she asked if I would photograph a spring beach styled wedding shoot she was putting together, I immediately said yes. She and her boyfriend Bryce modeled for the session, and it was so much fun watching her use all of her creative gifts to bring this vision to life. I loved that this shoot gave us room to play, experiment, and create something soft, breezy, and romantic by the water. We chose Rosario Beach at Deception Pass State Park as our location, just outside Anacortes. With its rocky shoreline, driftwood, and sweeping views, it’s one of those spots that feels wild and peaceful all at once. The combination of ocean, cliffs, and open sky made it the perfect backdrop for a spring-inspired beach wedding look. I loved it so much that I ended up coming back later in the year for an engagement session here—it’s that good. This location is also perfect for a romantic rosario park beach elopement.
Jade pulled together such a beautiful styling concept for the day. For florals, she brought in my dear friend Gina from From the Ground Up Floral, who is one of my absolute favorite florists to work with. Gina’s arrangements are always full of movement and texture, and this shoot was no exception. She created lush, organic bouquets and floral pieces that felt like they had been gathered straight from a seaside garden—soft blooms, natural greens, and just enough structure to feel polished while still looking effortless. The flowers added the perfect touch of romance against the neutral tones of the sand and rocks. For the bridal look, Jade wore a stunning Sarah Seven gown from The Dress Theory in Seattle.
If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how much I adore Sarah Seven dresses—they’re modern, chic, and incredibly flattering, with clean lines and just the right amount of drama. This particular gown moved so beautifully in the wind. Every time a breeze came through, the skirt caught the air and created that dreamy, flowing movement I love so much in photos. The Dress Theory team always curates the most gorgeous gowns, and this one was absolutely perfect for a breezy spring beach shoot, making it ideal for a rosario park beach elopement. Jade did her own makeup (because of course she did—she’s that talented) and it was flawless: soft, glowy, and perfectly suited for an outdoor coastal setting.
Her hair was styled by Jacq Eastlick of Salon Bellissima, and I loved how the hairstyle struck that ideal balance between polished and relaxed. With a touch of texture and movement, it looked beautiful in still moments and even more magical when the wind swept through. It all worked together to create a bridal look that felt elevated but still very natural and at ease. We also made sure to include thoughtful details that rounded out the “wedding day” story. The rings came from Bayside Coin & Jewelry, a local, family-owned jeweler known for their custom designs and beautiful pieces. Their rings added just the right amount of sparkle to our flat lays and close-up shots. For dessert, we featured a simple, pretty cake and cupcakes from Cupcakes Like It Sweet, which looked almost too pretty to eat (almost). The soft frosting textures and delicate styling fit the spring coastal vibe perfectly, creating the perfect setting for a rosario park beach elopement.
Throughout the day, we moved around Rosario Beach—down by the shoreline, up on the driftwood, and along the paths that overlook the water. The weather gave us that classic Pacific Northwest mix of soft clouds and filtered light, which made all the colors feel extra gentle and romantic. Between Jade’s ethereal gown, Bryce’s relaxed groom style, and the way the wind played with her dress and florals, it all came together in a way that felt almost cinematic. It’s the kind of setting that makes you instantly start dreaming about intimate elopements and seaside ceremonies. What I loved most about this spring beach styled wedding shoot was how personal and collaborative it felt.
I got to spend the day with friends I adore, working alongside vendors whose talent I deeply respect, all while creating something inspiring for future couples to enjoy. From Jade’s vision and styling, to Gina’s flowers from From the Ground Up Floral, to the gown from The Dress Theory and Sarah Seven’s beautiful design, every element was chosen with intention. It has been so hard not to share these images immediately over the years because this shoot still feels so special to me. If you’re dreaming of a spring or summer beach wedding, I hope this gives you a little inspiration: soft, romantic florals, an elegant-yet-relaxed gown, natural textures, and a location like Rosario Beach at Deception Pass State Park that lets the beauty of nature do most of the work. This styled shoot remains one of my favorites—and a reminder of just how magical the combination of good friends, talented vendors, and a beautiful coastal setting can be.
