This year has been absolutely perfect! Last year I overworked myself and started to resent what I was doing. It no longer was fun for me and felt more like a chore. During the winter months when I had nothing to do, I started to crave photography again. I swore to myself that this year I would slow down a bit and start enjoying my life and my work by taking days off and not overworking like I have in the past. It’s hard to find balance when you put your whole heart into something and truly love doing it. It doesn’t help that I am a total people pleaser and want to go above and beyond what people expect of me. However, I am happy to say that this year I feel I have finally found my balance! This Summer was busy for me, but I made time for my family and my own personal needs (movie nights anyone?). I even took some time to go camping with my family in Oregon which I have always wanted to do. I am still loving what I do for “work” and love the people that I meet. It may have taken me 6 years to find this balance, but I feel like I finally did it. Now, if only I can keep it up for next year too.
I cannot wait for Darby and Dillons wedding in Colorado next year! I have always wanted to shoot a wedding in Colorado and I finally get to do it with these cuties! Darby and I share a love for dogs. Immediately, I loved her. They have a darling pup (who hurt his tail so he was a trooper when we would ask him to sit for the pictures). If I havent mentioned before, I absolutely LOVE dogs and love when couples bring their pups to shoots. It truly brightens my day and I love making new friends with them.
